If the West Park Pavilion off Markland Way is upgraded would it be used more by sports group and organisations? This is a question the town council are going to ask residents.
At Monday’s General Purpose committee meeting of Uckfield Town Council a feasibility study into upgrading the pavilion was presented.
The members were presented with two plans to alter the interior of the building, one which would cost £175,000 and the other £250,000.
The plans included making more space in the building which could be used for more social type functions as well as sports changing rooms and toilets.
The councillors were generally in favour of providing extra space for people to book space/rooms in the town but they were also concerned that this building would need to raise income.
They decided that a business case needed to be raised to provide proof that spending money was viable.
At the present time the main user of the building is Uckfield Grasshoppers Football Club.
