Uckfield Singers performed their last Summer Concert with their current Musical Director, Tina Gilnere, on Saturday (21 July).
They performed to a packed hall, covering songs from Sweet charity to Les Miserables.
Tina will be pursuing her operatic career at Cardiff University in September. Whilst the choir are extremely sorry to see her go and will miss her enthusiasm, humour and musical expertise, they wish her well on her future career path.
Tina will be performing with fellow soprano Olivia Moss at St Margaret’s Church in Buxted on 25 July. Tickets available from Gale & Woolgar, Uckfield or Buxted inn.
The Summer concert on Saturday was helping to raise funds for the Headway East Sussex charity this time. They are based in Newick and provide help and support for people with brain injuries.
The presentation of a “large” cheque of £490 at the end of the performance was made to Wendy Pengally (director of finance & fundraising) of Headway by Nick Poole Chairman of Uckfield Singers.
