Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural event, local children and young adults’ charity, Chailey Heritage Foundation, is launching its 2019 Focus 10K Charity Run that will take place on Sunday 2nd June at Borde Hill in West Sussex.
The event, which is open to all levels of runners, from beginners to regular track competitors, will feature a brand new 5k course (just two laps for 10k runners) in the beautiful parkland and woodland of Borde Hill with participants able to choose their distance of 5km or 10km. There will also be a children’s Mini Mile as well as, new for 2019, a Team Relay that will allow those wanting to run together an opportunity to compete alongside other groups. Families and friends watching the races can also enjoy a day of fun family activities.
Now in its second year, the Focus 10k is once again kindly sponsored by Focus Group, with last year’s run proving very popular, seeing over 600 participants across a 10k, 5k and children’s Mini Mile, all raising money for children and young people with complex disabilities.
Sally-Anne Murray, Development Director at Chailey Heritage Foundation comments, “We were thrilled to see so many families at Borde Hill last year joining in the fun and fundraising. We expect this year to be even bigger and better, and thanks to our Headline Sponsor Focus Group, we can open the race to more participants than ever before. Events like the Focus 10K raise essential funds for the young people at Chailey Heritage Foundation and provide facilities that really helps them pursue their full potential.”
Chris Goodman, Joint Managing Director at Focus Group continues, “It was a great day last year with both serious runners and those running for fun coming along with their families and friends. We are delighted to be involved in the event again as a long-term supporter and partner of Chailey Heritage Foundation and we are all very much looking forward to 2nd June 2019.”
If you are not a runner, the Charity is looking for people to get involved on the day as volunteers to help with marshalling, water stations and runner registration. Please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
