There are lots of local companies who can support your needs. Find out more about the scheme here.

The Lions Bookshop is run entirely by volunteers so opening times may vary. From 29 September the shop will be open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays. Smaller donations are being accepted. Remember to check the Uckfield Lions website for the latest information.

The Age UK shop in Uckfield is open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and donations are being accepted. For safety reasons, please contact the shop on 01825 761 639 before bringing your donation.

The Hospice in the Weald shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5pm.

All shops have safe distancing measures in place and hand sanitiser available.

Sunflower Lanyards

The Uckfield Dementia Forum has launched the Sunflower Lanyard scheme in the town. Wearing a sunflower lanyard is a discreet way of letting others know that you have a hidden disability – one which is not immediately obvious.

This could include dementia, mobility problems, speech, visual or hearing impairments as well as learning difficulties and mental health issues.

They are free and can be collected from the Civic Centre.

Ongoing roadworks may cause delays on the A22 between Copwood and Little Horsted roundabout as a new roundabout is built to provide an entrance to the next phase of the Ridgewood housing estate.

Passengers taking the train from our local stations, can help socially distance by skipping station queues and buying their weekly, monthly and annual season tickets from the comfort of their own home. Customers of Southern and Thameslink can now buy season tickets through the train firms’ free OnTrack phone app and tap their Key smartcard to save queuing at the station and ticket machines.
