If you’re wondering where Jay Fisher disappeared to, she’s now a Robertson! After marrying Dan in January 2012, Jay chose to change her name on air when the GMU ‘Daily Countdown’ informed all listeners (yes, daily) of her upcoming wedding day and new name!

She joined Uckfield FM in Summer 2007 and has presented her own weekend show every other Sunday since Autumn 2010. She is also involved with our news and outside-broadcast teams, as well as co-hosting Good Morning Uckfield on Tuesdays.

Jay is accustomed to the daily commute from ‘Uckfield International’, having worked in Admin, PR & Marketing for a business angel network in London (think of a less glamorous Dragons’ Den without the humiliation) since 2008. In her spare time, Jay enjoys swimming, reading, writing, dancing and eating far too much chocolate! Music is one of her greatest passions in life – we asked her why she likes presenting on radio:

“I’m in control of a fantastic studio on a picturesque farm, playing my favourite music for three hours. What could be better than that? But being involved in community radio is so much more – getting out into town and meeting the locals, whether it be in the primary schools, high street, the church or the pub even! It’s an addictively rewarding thing to do. Don’t feel scared to get involved – it’s a brilliant confidence-booster and you’ll feel proud to be involved with such a hard working and well respected team.”

Jay has lived in Uckfield for over 20 years but will shortly be moving away to live on an RAF base with her husband. We can’t get rid of her that easily though – watch this space!
