How long have you been involved with Uckfield FM? Since way back in 2002 – I presented the first ever full breakfast show!

Home Town: Beckenham, Kent – well South London really. I moved to Uckfield in 1994 and now consider myself a local, I live in the Peoples’ Republic of Ridgewood – this of course ensures excellent reception of my favourite radio station.

When did you start presenting? I have been into radio since I was 9 years old – that was when commercial radio came to the UK and I was hooked on London’s Capital Radio. I was a boy dj one Christmas and got involved in live debates and kids’ programmes.

Then I moved along into Hospital radio at Dulwich, South London. I used to cycle the 12 miles each way so i must have been keen! Then I set another up at Bromley Hospital in 1982 and stayed for a few years. I had some wilderness years through the 90s before the great Uckfield FM was born in 2002.

Normal Day Job: Company Director.

When not presenting at Uckfield FM or carrying out your day job, what would you ideally be doing? I love holidays – especially in South Devon or Dorset. Or how about a nice walk on the forest?

Ideal studio guest: Paul McCartney or Paul Simon.

What could you not live without? My Blackberry.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? My son! He’s more like me than he cares to admit!

…and what would feature on the soundtrack? Cornershop – Brimful of Asha, Donna Summer – Love’s Unkind, Maxine Nightingale – Right Back Where We Started From, Killers – Human, Lightning Seeds – Pure.
