Chailey Repair cafe are currently offering a drop-off service, they are moving to new premises in the new year, until then it is drop off only

Please email them at with details of the make and model number of what needs repairing , preferably with a good quality photo or two, and they will see if they can help

Uckfield Festival Association is to hold its annual meeting via Zoom this year and invites everybody interested to attend the virtual event.

To attend the meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at 7.30pm, please email, or, and they will forward you the link needed.

Buxted Scouts will once again be selling Christmas Trees this year.

The trees are premium quality Nordmann firs which are beautiful non-drop trees with glossy green needles. The trees are sustainably grown in Sussex and will be freshly cut just before collection or delivery.

Order online at by 1st November, trees can then be collected from Buxted Scout Hut on Saturday 5th December, or delivery can be arranged to TN22 postcodes for a small charge.

Reception at Wealden District Council’s offices in Hailsham remains closed. Services can still be accessed by visiting or by calling 01323 443 322. If you need to see someone in person, appointments can be arranged but you’ll need to get in touch first to ensure a meeting is appropriate.

Uckfield Volunteer Centre is currently open, Mondays and Thursdays 10am to 4pm.

Visitors welcome to the Centre for volunteering, photocopying and hearing aid batteries. All Covid-19 regulations to keep you and our team safe.

The Lions Bookshop is run entirely by volunteers so opening times may vary. The shop is currently open from 10am to 1pm Tuesday to Saturday. Smaller donations are being accepted. Remember to check the Uckfield Lions website for the latest information.

The Age UK shop in Uckfield is open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and donations are being accepted. For safety reasons, please contact the shop on 01825 761 639 before bringing your donation.

Additionally, the shop are on the lookout for volunteers. you’ll receive free tea and coffee and a 20% discount on donated goods. Give them a call or pop in for more information.

The Hospice in the Weald shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 5pm.

Uckfield Art Group meet every Tuesday evening at the Luxford Centre, a group of painters who meet to share ideas and inspiration.

New members are always welcome and you can have two free tester sessions to see if it’s for you. Six months membership is just £25.

They generally hold 2 exhibitions a year (subject to current restrictions).

Off the rails at the Bluebell Railway – Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th October and Saturday 31st and Sunday 1st November

Explore Bluebell Railway on and…Off the Rails, with a special train timetable in operation including goods trains, as well as displays of vehicles, visit the railways website for more details opportunities to get off at Kingscote and Horsted Keynes stations and explore the displays there as well. Saturday and Sunday.

Cats Protection’s National Cat Adoption Centre will be hosting a day of online fun and games to celebrate this year’s National Black Cat Day.

Artytime Scrapstore
Jarvis Brook Recreation Car Park, Crowborough TN6 2EG
Monday and Thursday 10am – 2pm

Artytime Scrapstore collects materials that would otherwise be thrown away and offers to Members to reuses for creative projects. If you don’t want to be a member you can visit for a small fee.

One off fee is £5 per visit or you can become a member for the year for only £30.

We are always looking for donations of materials we could use, card, paper, paint, wool, fabric, stationery, maize packing materials as well as tape, glue and Velcro etc.

Artytime is a community interest organisation run by volunteers. The membership fee is to pay for rent, utilities and insurance.

Volunteers are always welcome as we would like to open at different times so more people can take advantage of our recycle, reuse and repurpose initiative.

The group is a group of retired ladies who enjoy the outdoors and some exercise! So come and see what they do and join in. It’s great fun. Good exercise and no running!

Nutley Windmill
Operating Wednesdays 11am – 3pm

Visitors are welcome but can only come into the mill field while volunteers are there on Wednesdays (their regular working day), provided they keep two metre spacing and well clear of the team, but unfortunately are not allowed into the mill at present due to social distancing restrictions

The Windmill has had its recent fault repaired and now in working order again

Uckfield Theatre Guild Zoom Meetings 
Amateur dramatics group who have been performing musicals and pantos since 1995. For over 18 year olds. Whether you are interested in being a cast member, wardrobe assistant, back stage assistant, scenery artist, fundraiser or patron we would love to see you.
