After finally playing a home game for the first time in nearly three months last weekend, AFC Uckfield Town are back on the road again tomorrow afternoon, when they visit mid-table Horsham YMCA in the Southern Combination League, writes David Eggleston.
In the Mid Sussex League – weather permitting – Ridgewood are away at Crawley Devils, whilst Nutley go to Ashurst Wood. Elsewhere, Buxted visit Ansty Sports and Social Club and Fletching travel to Plumpton Athletic. Meanwhile, Maresfield host Ditchling Reserves and Newick entertain Hurstpierpoint Reserves.
In the Betvictor Premier Division, there’s a tough test for Lewes, as they visit play-off chasing Cray Wanderers.
And there’s a key game tomorrow afternoon for Brighton and Hove Albion, as they look to pull away from the relegation zone in the Premier League with a win over third-from-bottom Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium.
In rugby union, Uckfield will be aiming to bounce back from their defeat at Pulborough last Saturday, as they host Park House in an important relegation clash at Hempstead Fields.
Elsewhere in local rugby, Newick are at home to near neighbours Plumpton.
And finally, Uckfield’s Mike Churchyard will be aiming this weekend to complete the Spine Race along the Pennine Way National Trail – one of the world’s toughest endurance races, covering a distance of 268 miles in extreme weather conditions. As at late last night, Mike had reached just over 190 miles.
