Winners of the Uckfield Lions Waitrose raffle

Lion President John Carvey, was delighted on Friday to present £200 worth of Waitrose vouchers to Caroline Elphick from Buxted this being first prize in the Lions annual Christmas draw , the 2nd prize £100 Waitrose shopping vouchers was a Mr Watson from Uckfield,who did not turn up and could not be contacted on his phone and the 3rd prize £50 Waitrose Shopping vouchers went to Samantha Hills from Uckfield.who’s voucher was collected by Pam Miller, all vouchers can also be used in John Lewis

The beneficiary of the proceeds from the draw this year is the very worthy cause The Rocking horse Appeal Children’s Charity based at The Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital Brighton, all the profit from the draw and a small top up from Lions funds means that a cheque for £2500 will be presented to the Rocking horse charity at the Lions next business meeting on the 8th January.

Uckfield Lions would again like to thank Waitrose for their support in donating vouchers and allowing Lions to sell raffle tickets within the store.

Late night shopping 6th Dec was the first appearance of Santa and his sleigh ,that was a reasonable if not somewhat blowy night .After that the weather changed Windy ,Rain ,and more Rain ,Santa’s route was changed (several times) ,but he finally completed his round on Sunday 22nd December ,it was tight and a final push resulted in a record one night collection ,and a record collection for the Sleigh .The people of Uckfield and surrounding villages donated this year over £5000, this money will go into the Uckfield Lion’s general funds for use through this present year for Good causes.

Uckfield Lion’s would like to thank the people of Uckfield and surrounding villages, for their generous support, and will use the money donated wisely.
