The Uckfield Coronavirus Outreach Boxes help group have so far delivered 122 boxes since they started 12 days ago.

Holy Cross Church will be broadcasting a virtual church service on their Facebook site and You Tube tomorrow morning with Father John at 9am.

Kings Church Uckfield will be uploading a Sunday Sermon on line tomorrow at 1030am and available via You Tube

The Town Mayor Cllr. Spike Mayhew appeared on the Uckfield Town Council Facebook site last night with a message to the town.

Some residents in Wealden are receiving council tax support under the government hardship fund.

The Post office delivery office will be open from7 – 9am daily except Wednesday and Sunday when it will be closed.

The chemists in Uckfield, Buxted are operating slightly different hours due to the latest pressure on them. All those times are on our Community Guide.

Extra care is needed when using petrol pumps and ATM machines which are not wiped.  Be careful and clean hands or use gloves to prevent any transmission.

Wealden have suspended Garden waste collection until further notice and Uckfield Town Council not to dump rubbish and fly tip. There have been some isolated examples in town but please take care and respect the countryside.

Personal Protective Equipment is still in short supply for our carers and the appeal continues for masks, gloves and other protective items.   Yesterday, the station had a call from a local person who was prepared to help in sourcing.  We have put that person in touch with the Care for the Carers.

The Uckfield Good Neighbour Telephone Scheme – for those that are feeling lonely, need a chat with someone to cheer them up or would just like a friendly, sensible conversation with someone.  Call 01825 578 017

The Brighton Buses will be operating a special service from TOMORROW Sunday 5th April, which will concentrate on peak travel times for keyworkers, and reduced during the day to a 2-hourly service.

Wealden Police are thanking people for taking head of the Government advice to stay home and travel when only necessary. It was mentioned by a  Government minister yesterday that a 5 minute journey was acceptable.

And with fine weather forecast people are warned stay at home. Stay Home and Save Lives and help the NHS.

Many of our local charities are contacting the station with pleas for help as many are worried that they will not be able to survive. There is no help yet from central government and will rely on us to help them.
