Upper Ouse – Flooding is possible – be prepared

Storm Dennis has brought 50mm of rain, with a further 1 to 2 mm possible by 06:00 17/02/2020.

River levels are rising and flooding is possible from Ardingly down to Barcombe throughout tonight. Warnings are issued for Freshfield Bridge, Lindfield Bridge and Barcombe Mills area.

Property flooding is expected, as well as affecting fields, gardens and roads. Impacts could be similar to Christmas 2019. Locations could include Slaugham Place, Brantridge Lane, Shell Brook cottages Ardingly, Lindfield Bridge, Freshfield Mill Farm, Millers Cottage, Freshfield, roads at Fletching Mill Bridge and Sharpsbridge, The Anchor Inn and Barcombe Mills.

With only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Monday evening.

Please plan to avoid driving through Barcombe Mills Road and install property protection products now, if you have them.

We have opened our structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to help reduce risk. We will update this message by 12:00 17/2/2020.
