After yet another postponement on Tuesday evening, AFC Uckfield Town will be hoping that the weather will finally relent tomorrow to enable them to play their first match in nearly a month. Uckfield have switched their home clash with fourth-placed Peacehaven and Telscombe to their opponents’ ground.
In scheduled games in the Mid Sussex League – again weather permitting – Ridgewood are away at Peacehaven and Telscombe Reserves. Nutley visit West Hoathly, while Buxted go to Holland Sports and Fletching travel to Eastbourne Rangers Reserves. Elsewhere, Maresfield take on Hurstpierpoint Reserves, and Newick visit Ditchling Reserves.
Lewes’s slide down the Betvictor Premier Division table continued with another home defeat to Bognor Regis in midweek. Tomorrow afternoon, Lewes face a crucial game at fellow strugglers Wingate and Finchley.
And, there’s also a crucial match tomorrow for Brighton and Hove Albion in their bid to pull away from the relegation zone in the Premier League. The Seagulls face arch-rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium, where kick-off is at 12.30.
In rugby union, after their defeat by the league leaders last weekend, Uckfield now host the league’s bottom team tomorrow with the visit of the Old Williamsonians to Hempstead Fields.
Elsewhere in local rugby, Newick are away at Pulborough’s second team.
