Tributes to Ranger, Geoff Pollard read out at funeral in Essex

Geoff Pollard on West Park

The funeral of Ranger, Geoff Pollard was held today (Friday 9th July)

Tributes were read out from people in Uckfield and the Town Council for a kind, capable, knowledgeable, unflappable gentle man, who loved nature, especially trees. When he was interviewed for the job of Town Council Ranger five years ago, it was immediately apparent that he was a caring man dedicated to nature.

Geoff gained his knowledge from Agricultural College in Devon, working on farms with many volunteer groups including land conservationists before getting his ‘dream job’ here in Uckfield.

The poem ‘Nature has a feeling’ by John Clare was read and ‘Song from a Secret Garden’ was played during the tribute. His father and family members were at the Crematorium in Essex and he leaves behind his older brother Brian and twin brother Frank who lives in Australia.
