Uckfield Lions have made donations this week

Although Uckfield Lions have had to cancel all fund raising events until further notice, with the help of technology, Lions continue to help the local community with donations  totaling £1500.

The Uckfield Coronavirus Outreach Boxes

Two of Lions Younger!! Members Karen Bedwell, Lynne Ireland along with Jenifer Elliot have been heavily involved in the Uckfield Food box scheme, To date they have distributed 150 boxes, to local people who are socially distancing   .Uckfield Lions gave a donation of £500 and the group have received further donations from Rotary, Tesco, Scanlan Trust, Manor park and Hempstead Fields Residents Ass and Chris Dowling.

Boxes are priced at £9.00 and are delivered free, the service is based at the Belmont Centre and goods are sourced locally, Details can be found on Uckfield News and Uckfield FM the Corona virus Group

A further £500 has been donated to the Kent & Sussex Air Ambulance

Several Lions Clubs in East Sussex, including Uckfield Lions, organise the Bluebell Walk event each year which raises money for the Kent & Sussex Air Ambulance.

The event has had to be cancelled this year, which would have expected to raise £4000–£5000 for the air ambulance.

Uckfield Lions normally run the café for the event so has agreed to donate £500 to the Sussex Air Ambulance.

Epilepsy Sussex

Lions also gave a donation of £500 to Epilepsy Sussex; part of this donation has been use to provide a Anti Suffocation pillow, for a Local Severely mentally and physically disabled child
