Uckfield businesses showed their appreciation of the work of the NHS this evening when a convoy set off from the Industrial Estate to Uckfield Hospital.

The organisers Alex Butcher and Colleen Clear lead the procession of around 25 vehicles representing a cross selection of the towns traders to the High Street, into Newtown and then along Framfield Road arriving at the hospital just before 8pm in time for the Thursdays ‘Clapping for the NHS’

A group of NHS workers were waiting for the convoy and just before 8pm the Town Crier Ian Bedwell made an announcment.

The Mayor of Uckfield Cllr. Spike Mayhew, and the Deputy Mayor Jackie Love were in attendance along with Spiderman!

Everyone then clapped for a minute with vehicle horns complementing the appreciation.

Following Alex and Colleen presented the staff with a hamper followed by another hamper to the volunteers of Sussex 4×4 who had assisted in the event. And a big thank you for C4C security for their help.
