Ridgewood Village Hall opening postponed

The re-opening of Ridgewood Village posponed

Karen Bedwell of the Ridgewood Village hall has told Uckfield FM:

“Unfortunately after lengthy discussions I have made the decision to postpone our opening event and Autumn Market on Sunday. The infection rate of Coronovirus is increasing in Wealden and as the children have gone back to school this week there are concerns that this will increase again and having an event, either indoor or outdoor at the present time would seem high risk, especially when the weather forecast for Sunday is now hot and sunny and we cannot guarantee how many people would attend. The decision has only come about following an email response from Sussex Police to our risk assessment and event management plan yesterday, up until that point and issues that were raised in that email i was happy for the event to go ahead but unfortunately the fast moving changes that Covid-19 brings has sadly meant that I do not feel it is now safe to do so”

She added:

“We will have a virtual opening by Spike Mayhew -Our Mayor and a tour of the hall via social media. We hope to hold our market with the Bunny Hunt on 3rd April 2021 – this will be a ticketed event and Covid dependent. Thankyou to everyone who has supported RVH which is open for hire again from Monday 14th September”
