Uckfield FM has given radios to two local community support groups who help vulnerable people in the local community.
The radio sets were provided by The Radio Hub, an organisation set up to support community radio stations.
That organisation has received lottery funding for donation of radios for people who will find listening to the radio a great comfort during the current difficult times.
The radios have been given to the Manor Park & Hempstead Fields Residents Association, and to Southdowns Uckfield Wellbeing Centre. Those organisations will pass them onto individuals and/or families they serve, and who they know would benefit from being able to tune into programmes such as those they will find on Uckfield FM.
Uckfield FM Chairman, Ian Smith, said: “Uckfield FM provides its listeners with information specific to the Uckfield area, interviews with leaders of local voluntary organisations, and a great mix of music. We hope that the radios we have given away will mean that the recipients will discover the joy and companionship that listening to the radio can bring. Uckfield FM is keen to be a valued component of Uckfield’s community spirit.”
