Police appeal following collision near Cowfold

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a serious collision near Cowfold on Tuesday (22 September).

Emergency services were called to the crash on the A272 – which involved a van and a lorry – at 8.55am.

Anyone who was driving from Cowfold to Buckbarn between 8:40 and 8:50am, or who saw the sewerage lorry prior to the collision and who may have dash-cam footage are asked to get in touch with Police.

The van driver – a 22-year-old man – was air-lifted to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The lorry driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sergeant Chris Ambrose said, “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or may have dash-cam footage of either of the vehicles.
