Herb Planter presented to Selby Meadow Community Garden

In March, just before lock-down, the Uckfield Men’s Shed agreed to make and donate a herb box for the garden.

Unfortunately, with the arrival of Covid 19, they were unable to complete the task.  With the relaxation of measures the Shed started to meet again in the garden at Streatfeild House where the herb box was constructed by its members.

The herb garden was completed at the end of August and has been planted up and the herbs, when established, will be available for people to share.

The community garden is a wildlife haven in Newtown for local people and for those across the town to enjoy.

The Shed has been unable to return to its premises at the Alma Arms as they were too small to allow social distancing and it has now moved into a larger unit on the Oaks Farm in Framfield where it can meet and be Covid compliant.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Shed or joining us please contact Chris at uckfieldmensshed@gmail.com.
