Dawson Hart enter final week of their June challenge

During June 7 members of the Dawson Hart team have been running and walking 600k to raise money for the Sussex Support Services in Uckfield which is their charity of the year.

They now enter their final week and have told Uckfield FM:

‘Due to lock-down and social distancing we have not been able to hold our regular fundraising activities. We still want to help in any way we can.

We have beaten our target and have already had walked and run over 700km and so far we have £445. We would love to raise some more money if we can!

Those taking part include representatives from the Private Client Department: Laura Manton, Director; Julie Binge, Chartered Legal Executive; Tracey Pugh, Legal Assistant, and Jessica Bennett Legal Assistant.

Also involved are Andrew Rannie, Director and Head of Property; Lochana Gabrielsen, Solicitor in the Commercial Property Department, and Lisa Ody, PA to the Managing Director.

Laura Manton said: “Due to lock-down we could not hold our annual Easter Egg Hunt and we haven’t been able hold our usual fundraising activities. I felt strongly that I wanted to do something. I had the idea that we could run or walk ‘together but alone’. During these times we feel it is even more important that we support each other and it is wonderful to be part of something with a common goal.”

“We have all been enjoying the countryside around us with walks and runs around Uckfield and Crowborough and further afield including Bewl water, Seven sisters and Tilgate Park to name but a few.

She added that now, more than ever, it was vital that Sussex Support Service – the Dawson Hart charity of the year – had additional funds to support its isolated service users’
