AFC Uckfield Town have appointed a new management team following the resignation of their former manager Anthony Storey.
In a Tweet from the club last night the club said they were ‘delighted to announce Graeme Mintrim and Steve Ives as our new joint first team manager’
It added that it will ‘bring an wealth of experience from previous roles and look forward to getting started’
Also, joining the management as assistant is Dom Crowhurst who has been successful in bringing through young talent at Eastbourne Town and will be a popular addition to the team.
Steve Ives, known as “Ivesy”, has most recently been First Team Assistant Manager/Coach of Crowborough Athletic. He has previously managed AFC Uckfield to promotion from the SCFL Division 1, as well as coached Eastbourne Town, Assistant Manager at Seaford Town and briefly Coach/analyst at Horsham. It was a big step to leave Crowborough but one he’s willing to take for the right people and scenario.
Graeme “Grimbo” Mintrim most recently was manager of Eastbourne Town U23s. He is a proven Manager, Assistant Manager & Coach whose CV includes First Team Manager Crowborough Athletic, U23 Manager Eastbourne Town, U18 Manager Eastbourne Borough. He has coached at Uckfield before when Ivesy was previously manager.
Dom Crowhurst is a capable Coach, competent at First Team Level but also proven/willing to develop U18 & U23 players. He has worked with Grimbo at Eastbourne Town U23s and is well knows to both managers. He will be assistant manager.
Club secretary Graham Sullivan told Uckfield FM:
‘Their vision is to predominantly work with younger players adding a few experienced heads in key positions.
As quickly as possible they want to establish movement between an U18, U23 and first team and ensure they are aware of all players in all teams, to give them a sense of belonging and an opportunity for progression.
We want to be known as a Club that gives young players a chance and focuses on developing them through good coaching. We will put a strong emphasis on togetherness and mutual investment by both Players, Management & Committee into making the Club the best environment that it can be’
