Uckfield Outreach now delivered over 200 boxes

The Uckfield Coronavirus Outreach group formed 6 weeks ago to help vulnerable people in Uckfield have now delivered the 200th box.

Member of the group Karen Bedwell said:

Today I am Very proud to say we will deliver our 200th Outreach Box’

‘In itself it is nothing to celebrate as it came at a time when our world is turned upside down and many people have lost their lives and many people are sad, frightened and lonely shut away behind closed doors. BUT what it symbolises is how a group of people come together at a time of crisis and make something happen to support the vulnerable.

‘From Jennifer Elliott’s first creation of the Coronavirus Forum to our emergency food parcel idea came the Outreach Box. We have been financially supported by so many people, and had an amazing team of volunteers manning the phones every day for 6 weeks, people supplying food ( even when it was a rare as Hens teeth ) packing boxes, delivering boxes( at risk to themselves) sorting the admin and in general offering to reach out to those in our community who are in need.
THANKYOU so much, Jenni and I have been humbled by your support and what we have achieved in 6 weeks’

‘We are still here. If you need a box contact us before 3pm and we will get food supplies out to you that evening’
