In the weekend’s local football, it’s the biggest game of the season for AFC Uckfield Town tomorrow afternoon, as they visit Walthamstow in the second round of the national FA Vase.
This is the first game for Uckfield in this season’s competition, following their tremendous run last year which took them through to the last 32. But, they’ll face a stiff challenge against opponents who are flying high in the Essex Senior League, with eight wins and a draw from their opening nine league matches.
In the Mid Sussex Football League, Ridgewood take on Roffey Reserves at the Maresfield Recreation Ground. Nutley entertain Hurstpierpoint, whilst there are also home fixtures for Buxted against the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and for Fletching, who face Cuckfield Rangers Reserves.
Meanwhile, there are away games this week for Maresfield and Newick.
After their FA Trophy exit last week, Lewes return to league action tomorrow afternoon, when they travel to lowly Cheshunt.
And in the Premier League, Brighton and Hove Albion will be looking for a third successive home win, as they welcome Norwich to the Amex Stadium.
