In Saturday’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town progressed into the quarter-final of the Peter Bentley Cup after a three-one win over Little Common at the Oaks. Uckfield scored all their goals in the opening 20 minutes, with Liam Baitup netting twice and the other goal coming from Anthony Storey.
In the Mid Sussex League, Ridgewood maintained their unbeaten record following a one-nil victory over West Hoathly at the Uckfield Leisure Centre. Elsewhere, Buxted’s home game against AFC Acorns was postponed.
Meanwhile, in cup competitions, Fletching thrashed AFC Hurst eight-one, while Maresfield defeated Eastbourne Athletic three-nil.
In the Betvictor Premier Division, Lewes’s recent improved run of form came to an end when they were beaten by the only goal at East Thurrock.
