After a win and a defeat in their two opening two league matches, AFC Uckfield Town are on the FA Cup trail tomorrow afternoon, as they travel to South East London to take on Welling Town in the Extra Preliminary Round, writes David Eggleston

Uckfield will be hoping to repeat their historic FA Cup run of last season, whilst their opponents, who play in the Premier Division of the Southern Counties East Football League, will be taking part in the FA Cup for the first time.

Lewes play their opening match of the season in the BetVictor Premier Division tomorrow, when they host Enfield Town.

And it’s the first match of the new Premier League campaign tomorrow for Brighton and Hove Albion, as they visit Watford.

In the weekend’s local cricket action, it’s another must-win game for Uckfield Anderida tomorrow, as they welcome Pett to the Victoria Ground, where play starts at one o’clock.

Buxted Park will be aiming to bounce back from their heavy defeat last week, as they host bottom club Bexhill’s second team. Isfield continue their promotion push with a visit to Battle, whilst Newick are at home to Chiddingly and Blackboys take on Nutley. And there are away fixtures this weekend for Fletching and Maresfield.

Meanwhile, the Sussex Sharks will be looking to maintain their superb unbeaten run in the T20 Blast this evening. The Sharks take on Middlesex in front of another sell-out crowd at the County Ground Hove.

In local bowls, Uckfield have a league match at Ringmer tomorrow and then host neighbours Wealden on Sunday afternoon.

There’s a mixed stoolball tournament at Newick on Sunday. Play at the King George the Fifth Playing Field begins at 11 am.

And finally, for local horse racing fans, Brighton stages the final day of its three-day festival meeting this afternoon. The first race is due off at two o’clock.
