In the weekend’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town will be looking to bounce back from their first league defeat since Boxing Day after going down four-two at Eastbourne Town on Tuesday night.
Uckfield host Broadbridge Heath tomorrow in the Southern Combination Premier Division, with kick-off at the Oaks at 3 pm.
With the improvement in the weather, all of our main local village teams should be back in action in the Mid Sussex League. Buxted are away at Eastbourne Rangers, while Nutley go to Charlwood and Ridgewood visit Ansty Sports and Social Club. Elsewhere, Fletching are at home to AFC Uckfield Town’s third team. Maresfield entertain Willingdon’s third team, and Newick are away to Eastbourne Athletic.
There’s a tough test for Lewes, as they host Dorking Wanderers, who are six points clear at the top of the Bostik Premier League.
And, it’s FA Cup action this weekend for Brighton and Hove Albion, as they aim to reach the quarter-finals with a victory over Championship side Derby County. Kick-off at the Amex Stadium is at 12.30.
Finally, in rugby union, Uckfield look to close in on promotion with a visit to local rivals Eastbourne tomorrow afternoon
