Uckfield FM Sports Preview

In local cricket, after narrowly missing out on their opening win of the season last weekend, Uckfield Anderida will be hoping to register their first victory tomorrow, when they welcome Lewes St Michaels to the Victoria Ground.  Play there begins at one o’clock.

Buxted Park go to Keymer and Hassocks for a league match tomorrow.  Then, on Sunday, they host Rottingdean in the third round of this season’s National Village Cup.

Elsewhere in the Sussex Cricket League tomorrow, Newick are at home to Isfield.  Fletching entertain Firle.  Maresfield host Polegate and Stone Cross, whilst Nutley have a home clash with Seaford’s third team and Blackboys visit Herstmonceux’s second team.

Meanwhile, Sussex’s county team, who yesterday drew their match with Northamptonshire, are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday, when they begin a new four-day game against Glamorgan at the County Ground Hove.

Among the weekend’s local bowls fixtures, Uckfield are away at Hellingly tomorrow and then host Groombridge on Sunday and Eastbourne Parade on Bank Holiday Monday.

The annual Uckfield Grasshoppers Sussex Sixes soccer tournament takes place tomorrow and Sunday at the West Park Playing Fields in Uckfield.

In speedway, the Eastbourne Eagles will be aiming to halt a run of five successive defeats in the Championship tomorrow evening, when they welcome Berwick to the Arlington Stadium.

And finally, Oakwood Park Polo Club, situated off the Maresfield By-pass, is staging a Launch Day on Sunday from 11 o’clock.
