In Saturday’s local football, AFC Uckfield Town’s home clash with league leaders Eastbourne Town was postponed due to an unfit pitch at the Oaks.
Uckfield are due back in action tomorrow evening, when they visit Eastbourne United in the Sussex RUR Charity Cup.
In the Mid Sussex Football League, Ridgewood had a one-nil win over Sovereign Saints at the Maresfield Recreation Ground. Nutley lost three-one a home to Peacehaven and Telscombe Reserves, while Newick were three-nil winners over Willingdon’s third team. And there were goals galore, as Maresfield drew five-all at Ditchling Reserves. Meanwhile, in a cup match, Fletching beat Crawley Devils Reserves four-one.
In the Betvictor Premier Division, Lewes went down to defeat at home to Leatherhead, who scored the only goal of the match after just four minutes.
And in the Premier League, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolves shared the points in an entertaining two-all draw yesterday at the Amex Stadium.
Finally, in local rugby, there was a disappointing result for Uckfield, as they were beaten 38-17 at Gillingham.
