Isfield Cricket Club came out well on top as they played host to Chiddingly on a beautiful sunny day.
Chiddingly captain Phil Dunn won the toss and elected to bowl first on what looked a good pitch.
Isfield openers James Fellows and Martin Wise put on 56 before Wise was lbw to Dunn for 13 which bought Emile Chasseaud to the crease and after a nervy start, dropped on 0, both he and Fellows pushed the scoring along.
Fellows was caught off a Dunn full toss for 82 but Chasseaud (73 not out) and Huw Williams (34 not out) made sure Isfield finished on an imposing 238-2.
In reply Chiddingly struggled to make any impact in the face of some impressive new ball bowling from Stef Halsey (3-15) and were soon in trouble, once Halsey finished he was replaced by Jack Fingerniessal who quickly ran through the chiddingly batting to finish with 5 wks for15.
Only Ed Monnington resisted for long with a well made 48 as Chiddingly we’re bowled out for 91. Isfield move up to 3rd and play 2nd place Hellingly on Saturday in an important promotion clash.
