The Uckfield Men’s Shed is busy making snowmen and reindeer to meet orders that had been placed on their Facebook page.
The shed, which opened for business last week, is situated in the barn at the back of the Alma Arms in Framfield Road, Uckfield.
The current membership is 14 although they are desperately looking for more people to join them.
The shed is aimed at anybody who has time on their hands and would like to meet up and socialise with like-minded people and learn or practice skills in a friendly atmosphere with lots of laughter.
On Tuesday 3rd December , the shed had a visit from Zoe Sorrell, Wealden Community and Regeneration Officer and Anthony Miller from ‘Pub is the Hub’ which is a national group that support publicans and help them to offer other activities such as post offices, libraries, theatres and shops for their local communities.
They came to look at the set up at the Alma, to discover the journey that had been made to achieve the shed and to offer any support they can.
If you would like to find out more information either join us them a Tuesday or Thursday 10am-4pm or email Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org
Men in Sheds is a service run by some older men who want to get together, share and learn new skills – all in the welcoming space of a ‘Shed’.
