Uckfield Lions’ Annual Classic Car Run

On a very wet and blustery Sunday morning Uckfield Lions Club held there 16th Car run, starting at The Halfway House on the Lewes Road Isfield.

Lions reflected on the day saying it was only the second time in 16 years they had weather like it was on Sunday , WET very WET.

Drivers and passengers checked in at the start and after coffee over a 100 cars set of on drive through the Sussex countryside, up through Maresfield, then across the Ashdown Forrest to Snow hill garden centre for more coffee ,back via Ardingly ,Lindfield returning to Halfway house for a lunch time pig roast lunch served by Ray, the Lions and the ladies.

Lions Classic Car Run is always run for charity and this year all profits from the run will go to Wealden Works, This is a scheme for getting young people who don’t do so well at school and an opportunity for local young people to benefit from contact within the business world and support networks bridging the gap between education and work….. details of scheme can be found on www.wealdenworks.co.uk.

Once again Uckfield Lions would like to say a very big thank you to Mel and Rowan for allowing Lions the use of The Halfway House and wonderful surrounding grounds.

Also this event would have been made a lot harder if it had not been for Aworth Survey Consultants of Uckfield who kindly provided the maps for the entrants to use. So a big thank you to them .
