Saturday saw the Uckfield Gardeners Club Spring Show return to the Luxford Centre.
Although rather too late in the calendar for many daffodils this year there were some splendid flowers on display, entrants had worked hard to ensure the flowers were in perfect condition & the room was full of colour & scent.
There were lots of first time visitors on the day, and it is hoped they might feel encouraged to bring entries of their own in for future shows.
The childrens sections were very colourful, a lot of effort had been put into making pom pom trees, chicks & eggs in nests and edible necklaces, the eventual winners were Isla & Skye Sherwood. In the adults classes Yvonne Weaver won the trophy for her many beautiful daffodils; Joan Turner took home the trophy for other flowers & plants; the prize for the best vase of flowers went to Annie Lock. The decorative flower arrangement trophy went to Margaret Clark who also won best exhibit in show for her very artistic basket of spring flowers.
There were some amazing photographs of life in Uckfield High Street, the moon & others, Julie Eiloart won the class while Anna Elliott topped the cookery & handicrafts classes with delicious jams, pickles, marmalades & baking along with knitting, sewing & other crafts. Anna has clearly had a busy few months. The class for the best fruit cake was won by Doreen Forster.
A big thank you to all who contributed to a great show. They are now looking forward to the Summer Show on Saturday 17th August. Visitors welcome from 1pm at the Luxford Centre. Anyone can enter the classes and they welcome new exhibitors, for more information please email Cathy on email@example.com or call 07887825032
