Uckfield Carnival just a few days away

The Uckfield Bonfire and Carnival Society goes back to 1827 when local traders organised a carnival on a Wednesday afternoon!

One hundred and ninety two years later and the carnival continues to raise money with their logo ‘We burn for Charity’

This Friday evening the annual firework display will be held at 9:15pm. However, before the fireworks Uckfield FM, DJ Steven Crow will keep you entertained with music and fun.  Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy.

Saturday will start at 1:30pm with the children’s fancy dress procession starting from the railway station car park. It will go up the High Street, to Southview Drive and then back to the Holy Cross Field for fancy dress judging at 2:20pm.  The road closure is from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.

The evening events will start at 6:30pm in Elizabeth Gardens in Grange Road with the adult fancy dress competition.

The tableaux will form up in Bell Lane from 6:45pm and start off about 7:30pm.

The roads will be closed from 7pm until 10pm – there will no exit from the Luxford Car Park at this time.

(the car park at Halfords/McDonalds has a 90 minute limit and the car park in Bell Walk has a 2 hour time limit – BE AWARE)

The main procession will leave Grange Road at 7:30pm with all the lit torches and other bonfire societies.  The floats and other groups will join from the traffic lights at Boots.

The High Street outside the Cinque Ports in the location for bonfire prayers at 9:10pm.
