More than 100 visitors braved the wind and rain to come to the Uckfield Art Group’s annual November exhibition which had a “Winter” Theme Corner and “Artists in Action” to chat to – also the opportunity to vote for your favourite artist who will win an award.
Over 130 original paintings were on show, as well as many prints, greetings cards, hand- made crafts, driftwood art, linoprints and much more.
There was also be a chance to have a go at creating your own piece of art, or simply doodle, as part of the “Have a Go” table. Members contributed an Winter painting area of the show which glowed with rich colours .
Refreshments as usual were available so visitors could enjoy a slice of home-made cake while surrounded by the beautiful art work. Altogether there were many original pieces of artwork, from the members, as well as many prints, greeting cards, decorated glassware, felted flower brooches and hair clips as well as adorable felted gnomes.
Children, and some adults, enjoyed the craft table where they could make leaf prints, silhouettes and other masterpieces. Secretary, Annie Mills would like to say a big thank you to all art group members who arrived early to help prepare and stayed later to take down the whole exhibition. The Uckfield Art Group is lucky to have such dedicated and friendly members.
