Uckfield College visited by residents association Chairman

Paul Sparks, the Chairman of the Manor Park and Hempstead Fields Residents Association visited the building site of Uckfield College this week.

Paul later reported on social media the result of his visit.

“Had a good meeting this morning and was advised that building work is on track with a target completion of mid August 2020 and then being occupied by College from the September new term. Between those dates there will be an open day for the local community.

There will be a Xmas break from 20th Dec. for 2 weeks and during that period lighting will continue as well as CCTV.

Tree planting was confirmed as a key part of the contract with most being completed between late spring and early summer next year. This will include moving memorial trees from other parts of the school ground.

The internal playground can now longer be used for parking outside school hours so for such things as parents evenings and shows at the theatre, there will be vehicles parked on the residential roads but school are encouraging walking to the school.

The Youth Centre building will be occupied by the school from beginning of next year so currently exploring alternative locations for Youth Club and PHAB club”
