The first Holy Cross Crafty Play Café

The ‘Mums of Holy Cross Church’ Uckfield held their first ‘Crafty Play Cafe’ on Saturday 23rd March from 10am-12pm in the Belmont Centre!, raising funds for new resources for the many free Youth groups held by the Church, such as Messy Church, Junior Church, Holiday Club & Children’s Choir.

The Belmont Centre was buzzing with activity and happy children, who enjoyed the soft play (generously donated by Off the Wall Entertainment) and Craft tables as well as an abundance of great second hand children’s books, clothes & toys; while parents sat and enjoyed homemade cakes and coffee! The morning ended with a ‘Storytime session’ which had snow falling on the children as they read and took part in ‘The Gruffalo’s child’. It was a wonderful morning and an incredible £300 was raised!

‘It’s great to see the mums and children, that are now very much part of our church community, hosting this event to raise funds for the wonderful youth projects that the church organises. We are incredibly lucky to see our young community growing and must support these groups and children as much as we can. It’s important that sessions, such as ‘Messy Church’ and ‘Holiday club’ etc. continue to be offered FREE to the children in the town, so that ALL children are able to take part. I thank everyone for their continued support of Holy Cross Church and especially to all those who came along today’
