Year four children at St. Philip’s Catholic Primary School Uckfield travelled back in time on Friday 15th March to the dark ages, donning tunics and zoomorphic tattoos as they transformed into Anglo-Saxons.
After weeks of studying the Saxons and Vikings, the children enjoyed having the history brought to life in front of their eyes by Living History Workshops.
They became immersed in a spectacular range of activities,
including weaving using hand looms, exploring artifacts, and carving metal amulets to bring them good luck as they set off to battle, reenacting the Battle of Hastings with newly learned military techniques.
