St Philip’s Catholic Primary School children experience evacuation by train

Pupils from St Philip’s Catholic Primary School experienced evacuation first hand as they boarded the train from Uckfield.

The year 5 children, who are studying World War 2, spent the day at Buxted Reading Room writing postcards home, darning socks and learning WW2 songs, before returning by train to Uckfield.

They were accompanied on their adventure by teacher Mrs Wilding and TAs Mrs. Joyce and Mrs. Everest, all dressed as characters from their class book, Friend or Foe.
