Pupils, parents and friends enjoyed Rocks Park Primary School’s annual sports day on Friday. Ryan Scott, a Commonwealth Gold medalist in sprinting, joined the children for fitness sessions in the morning and then was the official starter the races in the afternoon.
The Pom and Cheer Dance club made their first appearance after just four lessons, showing off their moves to enthusiastic cheers from the parents.
There was the usual mixture of running, skipping, three legged and egg & spoon races, finishing with the team relay. Points were awarded for first, second and third places and an extra 10 points to the team who showed perseverance and determination. This year they were awarded to the red team.
The total at the end of the afternoon was close, with only 2 points separating 1st and 2nd. But, the winning team this year were the yellow team.
