In the build up to Restart a Heart Day, East Sussex Fire and Rescue will be running a series of events in both Uckfield and Eastbourne.
Restart A Heart raises awareness about cardiac arrest and helps people to learn CPR, giving them life-saving skills and the confidence to use them.
Last year, 238,793 people in the UK were trained in CPR through Restart A Heart day.
We will be running FREE sessions for members of the public at Uckfield Fire Station on 15th October (2pm to 3.30pm) and 17th October (7pm to 8.30pm)- Poster attached to this email. Eastbourne Fire Station will also be running Restart A Heart sessions on Saturday 19th October (1030am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3.30pm).
Members of the public will learn CPR skills together with how to use a Defibrillator. Following this, members of the public will learn about Road Traffic Collision (RTC) scene safety. This will cover:-
- How to keep yourself safe
- Summoning emergency help
- Common hazards around RTCs
