At 2:30pm on Sunday 10th Nov a Remembrance Parade assembled in Luxford Car Park and made its way via the High Street and Church Street to the Holy Cross Church where at 3.00 p.m.
The Town’s service of Remembrance took place followed at 3:45pm with the laying of wreaths on the town memorial in the church yard.
Wealden’s Chairman Councillor Pam Doodes was in attendance along with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Uckfield and other local dignitaries.
At 11.00 a.m. on the 11th November (“the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month”) at Holy Cross Church a maroon was fired and two minutes silence was observed .
Uckfield Civic Centre staff will stand silent for two minutes to pay their respects.
