The South Downs Ultra Challenge is a grueling 100km walk from Eastbourne to Arundel and takes place every year.
The event started on Sunday with options for participants of 100km, 50km and 25km.
Uckfield’s Lynne Ireland was taking part in her second challenge raising funds in memory of her mother Frances Brown for the Alzheimer’s Society. So far, Lynne has raised over £900.
She was joined by other friends including Wendy Wheatley who was raising funds for Prostate Cancer. Her donations exceeded her target and raised over £500.
Both completed the 100km challenge in 26 hours and 23 minutes taking 5 hours off last years time, a massive achievement.
