This fundraiser was to create awareness for the environment and NCS raised money for the world land trust which is for every 5 pounds raised they will plant a tree and look after the tree until it is strong enough to grow by itself.
There was great support for the NCS on Luxford Field on Thursday with a great bunch of youngsters working together.
The team, based in Uckfield, is partaking in the National Citizen Service (NCS) program and organised this event on to support the World Land Trust.
At the event on Luxford Field, they had a raffle draw, bird and bee house building workshops, cake sales and face painting plus live music and guest speakers to talk about the importance of environmental protection and how this event will make a difference.
World Land Trust is an international conservation charity, which protects the worlds most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre.
Since its foundation in 1989, WLT has funded partner organisations around the world to create reserves, and give permanent protection to habitats and wildlife.
WLT emphasises the importance of supporting local conservation groups and always working through local partners. WLT does not put its own staff in charge of operations, but relies on local expertise.
The NCS team would like to thank Uckfield local businesses and shops for their generous contributions.
A big thank you to Spike Mayhew Uckfield Town Mayor and Uckfield Deputy Mayor Jackie Love, Mike Skinner from Uckfield FM and Ron Hill (HillPhotographic).
