An Open Meeting is being held to see if there is an interest from the community in having a Men Shed in Uckfield.
Inviting all those who would like to be involved to come along to an open meeting to find out more.
The meeting is being held at 1:30PM, 21st August 2019, The Alma Arms, Function Room in Framfield Road, Uckfield.
What is a Men Shed?
Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending.
The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
Just come along
There is no need to book and people can just turn up, if individuals are interested in the men shed but can not attend the open meeting, they can email either Chris Sherwood or Margaret Dode-Angel for more information.
Margaret Dode-Angel, Founder & Director of Sussex Support Service CIC said:
“I am excited to support the start of any new project that helps with the general wellbeing of our community. The men shed is an ideal opportunity for men to come together.”
