Local solicitors supports children’s charity

Law firms from across Sussex and Kent have partnered with Chailey Heritage Foundation to support the charity’s annual Make A Will Fortnight campaign.

Taking place from 9th to 20th September, members of the public can book an appointment with a participating solicitor any time during the two week period.

Those participating include Adams & Remers (Lewes), Griffith Smith LLP (Hassocks), Griffith Smith Conway (Hove), Barwells (Eastbourne, Newhaven, Seaford, Peacehaven and Hailsham) and JE Bennett Law (Sevenoaks). They will kindly be waiving their fees for a fixed number of appointments made during that time. However, individuals are requested to make a donation to the charity in lieu of payment. Suggested donation amounts are £80 to add a Codicil to an existing Will, £130 for a Single Will and £195 for a pair of mirror Wills.

Last year, the charity raised almost £4,000 from donations as part of Make a Will Fortnight. Development Director, Sally-Anne Murray said “We are very grateful to all of the solicitors who are generously supporting us by waiving their fees for Will-writing services. And we really appreciate the donations we receive from clients making appointments during Make a Will Fortnight, as every penny donated will go directly to helping children and young people with complex disabilities and health needs.”

If you don’t yet have a Will, or you need to make changes to your Will, this is an ideal opportunity to do so. A limited number of appointments will be available, so individuals are advised to book their appointments early to avoid disappointment.
