A retrospective display of work created by Buxted Art Club was included in the club’s annual exhibition over the weekend.
Chilly winds didn’t stop people venturing out to the 34th annual Buxted Art Exhiition. New and regular visitors enjoyed chatting with friends over a cup of tea in the café area after browsing the exhibition of work by club members from the past year.
The standard of work exhibited was much admired for its variety of styles, media and approach and there was a themed corner where artists were asked to present their interpretation of one image. Some innovative and amusing interpretations were found in the Themed Corner commemorating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing!
Organisers said the resulting paintings showed the wonderful imagination, artistic talent and humour of the group
Know Dementia is our chosen charity this year. The charity supports The Memory Moments Café held at the Buxted Inn every Tuesday morning. Thanks to everyone to supporting this local group.
The group was formed in 1965 following an Art Course run bythe WI. Since 1985 a Spring Exhibition has been held in Buxted Reading Room.
