AFC Uckfield Town made hard work of winning today’s game again Langley Wanderers at the Oaks for the Bank Holiday Monday fixture.
The match came just two days after the teams win in the Emirates FA Cup.
After 5 minutes the Langley keeper pulled off a world class stop to deny Uckers the lead.
And in 10 minutes Langley took the lead:- 0-1
Just 11 minutes later came the equaliser with Callum Smith scored his first goal:- 1-1
Uckers keeper Louis Rogers made a great low stop at at 23 mins.
Just before half time, Callum Smith on target again with his low finish in the corner:- 2-1 at half time.
Soon after half time, Callum Smith was on target again to get his hat trick after a neat interchange with Maclean and Camara. 3-1 to Uckers after 49 minutes.
It was a real job keeping up with the action today as after 61 minutes, Langley pulled one back making it 3-2.
Just 3 minutes later it was 3-3 and it looked like Uckfield were throwing a game away that should have been put to bed for the 3 points.
Anthony Storey and Matt Black replaced Matt Maclean and Bright Tempa at 70 minutes.
It was looking tough now for the game to end as a draw as Langley turned up the pressure.
There were chances for Uckfield and Langley and the home keeper made a lovely low diving save at 79 minutes.
At 84 minutes Uckfield had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for a foul on the Langley keeper.
However, Uckfield turned up the pressure in the injury time and it paid off when Callum Smith scored his 4th goal of the game at 90+5 minutes.
There were amazing scenes of celebration from the home team and home spectators.
