Uckfield Lions involvement with local primary schools

The Lions of South East England have organised an innovative ideas competition –ROAR 2018- for schools.

This competition encourages children to think big and dream bigger about their ideas.

Last year’s competition was won by Blackboys Primary School with Framfield Primary School coming second. In building on this in 2018 Uckfield Lions are sponsoring seven local schools. Our partners 7billionideas have recently presented the competition to these schools. The children are encouraged to produce an idea that will help the environment and also to produce a model of their idea using recyclable materials.

Each school will identify teams of three, and using the provided programme of work over five weeks, will hold a school final.

The winning team from each school will then present their ideas at the South East Final to be held at The Millennium Seed Bank in Wakehurst Place in December. Their ideas will be judged and the winning idea will be presented as a book available from Amazon.
