Uckfield Lion’s Housebound Club Harvest Tea at Rocks Park School

The Year 6 children of Rocks Park School welcomed the Uckfield Lions’ Housebound Club for their annual Harvest Tea on Wednesday 3rd October and, like every other year, it was an afternoon that didn’t disappoint.

The afternoon began with a mini Harvest concert performed by the Year 5 and 6 children, which finished with the school’s new anthem “I am the Earth.”

The Housebound Club enjoyed every minute, including Love Me Tender and Jolly Good Fellow on the piano, which a few joined in with.

It was then followed with the Year 6 children serving tea, sandwiches and cake, which they had made, and sitting down to share stories and enjoy the tea together. It is rare these days where two contrasting generations have the opportunity to talk and get to know each other and everybody had a wonderful time.

The school’s values of Caring, Being Respectful, Being Positive and Indenpendent shone through and the Housebound Club were very impressed with the children. Again it proved why this is one of the highlights of the school year!
