Uckfield Lions 10K Run

Lions fun run

At 10am on a very hot sunny Sunday morning 70 runners set off from the Uckfield Rugby Club for the annual Uckfield Lions and Uckfield Runners 10K Run in aid of Prostate Cancer.

The course took a route through Buxted Park passing the hotel, church and looping round the lake twice before returning to the Rugby Club for the finish.

After just over 40 minutes the first runner was back on the Rugby Club field heading for the finish line.

The results for the Men and Women were:
Mens 1st Place – Jamie Keddie (40m 56s)
Mens 2nd Place – Jamie Tyler (42m 47s)
Mens 3rd Place – Zac Newman (44m 00s)

Womens 1st Place – Natasha Swan (52m 30s)
Womens 2nd Place – Eileen Welch (53m 03s)
Womens 3rd Place – Claire Harvey (55m 14s)

The winners

The trophies for the fastest Man and Women and medals for all competitors were presented at the finish line by the Mayor of Uckfield Spike Mayhew, Deputy Mayor Jackie Love, and the new Lions President, David Skinner.

The Uckfield Lions would like to thank everyone for coming and supporting the event, the Uckfield Rugby Club & Buxted Park for allowing the run to take place, the marshals, helpers and the St John Ambulance team for keeping everyone running in the right direction and looked after at the end and the Uckfield Runners for their help and support in putting on another successful Lions 10K Run.
